Our dentist, Dr Dipen Patel, has over 13 years of facial aesthetics experience and is currently studying for an MA in the field, such is his interest in keeping abreast of the latest procedures.
What treatments do you have on offer?
We have too many to list, but if you are looking to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, we have the option of either Botox or dermal fillers with our facial aesthetics Kent.
Botox is made from botulinum toxin type A, which is an injectable aesthetic solution that relaxes the tiny facial muscles by blocking the nerve pulses, and this makes the skin softer and more supple, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It is a non-surgical procedure and is non-permanent. It should also be pain free. It is recommended that patients have further treatment every 3 months to maintain the results.
Botox can also be used to reduce the effects of excessive sweating, as well as to help those who clench their teeth excessively. For all treatments, a numbing cream can be used to reduce any discomfort.
Another option for reducing fine lines and wrinkles is the use of dermal fillers. These are made from hyaluronic acid gels that come from non-animal sources. Our bodies naturally produce hyaluronic acid and it keeps the skin soft and supple. Over time, the amount of hyaluronic acid generated by our bodies reduces. The sterile hyaluronic gels are injected into the desired area to rejuvenate skin, and can also be used to plump up lips, as well as restructuring the appearance of cheeks, jaws and chins.
Fillers can last up to 18 months, but this does depend on the area treated and the individual. Like Botox, it is non-surgical and can take just minutes to administer. There is no downtime and side effects should only be redness, swelling, tenderness and bruising which should go down quickly.
