What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers Kent are injections containing sterile hyaluronic acid gels. The gels can sometimes be inserted using cannulas, which reduces the risk of bruising, whereas needles offer more precision. The body naturally produces hyaluronic acid and it is this which gives your skin the elasticity and volume it needs to appear youthful. Over time, however, your body’s natural production of this substance becomes depleted and your skin can become visibly lined and wrinkled. By injecting hyaluronic acid gels into the lines and wrinkles that you have, you are plumping up the skin and this allows it to instantly appear more youthful. Dermal fillers can also be used to give the lips a more voluminous appearance for a healthy-looking and happy smile. And, if that isn’t enough, they can also be used for delineating the face, hand and neck contours!
Does this require downtime?
Having dermal fillers Kent only takes a few minutes and you will not need any downtime afterwards. You will be able to continue with your day as usual! Dermal fillers contain local anaesthetic to ensure that you don’t feel any pain, and we can also apply a numbing cream to ensure that your treatment feels comfortable throughout.
How long will the results last for?
For the lips, the results typically last for 6 months, whereas the facial results can last between 6 to 12 months. Dr Patel can discuss the time-scale for repeat treatments as some people like to have treatments every 3 months or so, but it could be possible to leave this longer. Either way, you may only need to come and see us every 2 to 3 times a year.
Are dermal fillers safe?
Hyaluronic acid gels are made from non-animal sources and are FDA approved.
